We follow FTC requirements that affiliate disclosures be clear and conspicuous to our audience. We want you to find any disclosure easily and early. Therefore, we make it a practice to include a brief disclosure before or near the beginning of any content that contains affiliate links. This way, you’ll see the disclosure before you encounter a link for which we receive compensation.

In practice, here’s how we disclose affiliate relationships in various formats:

• Blog Posts: If a blog post contains affiliate links, we will display a short affiliate disclosure statement at the top of the post (immediately before or after the title/author line and certainly before any affiliate link appears). For example, you might see a note saying the post “may contain affiliate links,” along with a reminder that we may earn a commission (with a link to this full disclosure page). This ensures readers are informed right away.
• Podcast Episodes: For podcast content, we include an affiliate disclosure in the episode description (show notes). Typically, the description will state that the episode or notes include affiliate links or sponsored recommendations. When feasible, the podcast host will also make a brief verbal disclosure during the episode, especially before discussing any product for which we have an affiliate relationship.
• Email Newsletters: If our email newsletters contain affiliate links, we will include a clear disclosure near the top of the email content. Usually, the first part of the email will mention that it includes affiliate links and that we may receive a commission if you purchase through those links.

By providing disclosures in these places, we make sure you don’t have to hunt for the information – it is presented up front, in context. We do not hide or bury our disclosures in fine print or only in a general site footer, as that would not meet the FTC’s “clear and conspicuous” standard for affiliate transparency.
